Or is that just for NYC fans? At any rate, I sure WILL tell ya'll about Oxford-- Daddy Dearest (ha) just called last night to reserve. If any of ya'll are ever in the southern-central-southern NY region, make sure ya catch a show at the Night Eagle in Oxford. It's the coolest place. Now since I don't live where the music's at I have made it my mission to travel to where the music's at as often as possible. My latest travels brought me to New York and Boston and to two weeks of music adventures with my wonderful road buddy sharon g (and if any of you see/talk to/write her today, sing her a happy birthday or a 'you're aging well'). The last ever Cry3 show as well as Lucy's gigs at the Makor and the Emelin were part of the fun and boy were those great shows! Lucy was in amazing voice (and I think she might just have performed the ultimate version of Mary Magdalen, that was just absolutely terrific!) and put on two absolutely wonderful solo shows - I think I am on a Lucy-high right now. That woman is a rocker! Now nothing against ballads, I love ballads, especially if they are sung by Lucy, but one of these days I'd like to see her with an electric guitar in her hands, I bet she'd have a blast as would the audience. Anyway, I had the best possible time ever at those shows, it was a pleasure to meet some of you guys there and my sincere thanks go out to Rick and Lucy for making this so special for me! If their travels ever bring them to this part of the world I'd happily volunteer as their tour guide, I'd even throw in some baked goods, made by myself of course :-) So much for now, I hope I'll find the time to post here once in a while, wishing everybody a whole lot of music in their lifes, Katrin PS: for more Lucy-content: the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar was Ten Year Night. Oops, now I just outed myself as someone who didn't start playing the guitar until a short while ago. I, however, now live in New York and have had the opportunity to see Lucy on several occasions. Being on the list has also given me the opportunity to discover some other amazing talents, including Lynn Miles, Jennifer Kimball and Louise Taylor, artists I would otherwise never have heard about. In any event, I hope Lucy does come your way some time in the near future unless of course, you decide to go on another road trip. And until Lucy puts out another collection, we can at least look forward to the new album from Richard Shindell, which I have ordered and hope will arrive any day now. Again, welcome! When you people start to hear the new Richard Schindell album, will you let me know what its like. I interviewed the very lovely Kristina Olsen yesterday, People like Lucy and Richard have to rely on shows like mine to get any airplay down here, I would like them to get more airplay but Im proud as hell that I have them to myself (for another few days anyway.)
