Emmylou and Gram Parsons recorded it also. The Louvin Brothers were the guys who were a major influence on the Everly Brothers. You should look them out sometime and you will hear where the harmonies come from. What amazes me about Lucy is this vast repetoire of songs she has at her disposal. She has an amazing knack in choosing great songs and her interpretations are second to none. I think there are even some sound clips. For anyone who ends up buying the cd or seeing him, I'd love to hear your reaction. (No, I'm not connected to him in any way. Just really enjoyed his show and cd.) Iain...you must be good with geography. Yes, Omaha is on the Missouri River and Lincoln is about an hour west. I spent about 10 days in England this Spring (mostly York and London). Not enough time to make it to Edinburgh, much to my dismay. I have to make it there next time. :) Happy Holidays! Gallagher and Lyle (one of them anyway!) are probably best known for writing Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It?"- but they were a terrific duo back in the early 70's. For some reason though, it seems their albums haven't made it to cd format. I'd also like to echo Harvey's comments on Hugh Blumenfeld and about.com. He is the folk music guide over there and does a great job. I believe the more people who visit the site, the better it is for him. So go check it out because it's a really good site and he's as nice a human being as you would ever want to meet. And of course Lucy has been on 2 of his cd's and they are both excellent. Happy Holidays to everybody out there who has really made this list the joy that it is. And especially Lucy Kaplansky!
