I don't know why I'm plugging his page today - he's usually capable of doing that himself! - but it's so damn nice to see such an accurate page that I had to mention it. Buff - really excited because a) she's officially on holiday for 3 weeks, as of today, and b) because she's seeing Lucy this evening! But I forgot to make BAKED GOODS!!! P.S. I'm sorry if I didn't get back to anyone who mailed me about meeting - - I THINK Paul or I wrote to everyone between us, but in any case, we'll see people tonight! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 07:46:03 PST From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] the perfect post timothy that was the most perfect post i have ever seen i think there were hints of your wife, folk wife, you had a lovely entertaining lucy story to tell it was about songs lost and song gained you were able to tie in the lucy's past (guienevere) lucy's present(by way of sorrow) lucy's present(the third angry song in the trilogy) and the obscure but seasonally appropiate the Ballad of mary M- and for those of us of who have heard it- yoiu understand you were able to speak speak directly to Ms. Sunday best black dress Jenny Frog- about another friend across her pond- another frog who was the conduit to your finding the subject of this list- (very important to include those- how i found the artist stories) and to have one that includeds a frog) Bravo personally (another important post point- mine includes meeting lucy, rick harvey becky graham and being reintroduced to RonG all in one 10 year night) and ofcourse you had me on the edge of my chair with suspense suspense is good- good overcame evil- another good thing- there was minor conflict- and conflict resolved- you heard your request -always victorious and lastly you brought baked goods.... thank you for the perfect post... and thank you for making my day (gratitude is good too) sharonG ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 11:11:08 EST From: Wa2suh@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Re: WFUV Listener Poll WFUV in NYC is polling their listeners to determine the Top releases of 1999. From top to bottom: 6th - 2nd fret 5th - 2nd fret 4th - open 3rd - open 2nd - open 1st - 3rd fret This chord is usually encountered as part of a "walk-down" bass part, as in "Ten Year Night" at the begining of the verse. In TYN, however, you use a hammer-on on the second fret of the 6th string. It's a little awkward at first, but once you get it you'll find yourself "walkin down the road feelin' bad" as in "bad*ss." Walk-downs and walkups are an integral part of the acoustic musician's arsenal, signalling chord and even key changes to other players and vocalists. Once you have this technique down you'll use it a lot :-) Charlie Sweeney (=}===# Virtual Guitarist-Something Black http://somethingblack.com http://susanwerner.com http://karensavoca.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 23:06:46 -0000 From: "Jenny" Subject: [lucy-list] LUCY FROGS Helllloooo Sharon ya're right again...it was a perfect post. >A true froggie-Lucy connection! Yup. Hmmm...I totally like froggie-lucy connections myself. And, yeah, i think they probably would call me that in church on a sunday. If i went. Born into the wrong faith. >After about fifteen minutes of being beside myself for drawing a blank and not = >having a clue what to yell when the time to yell requests came up, I = >told my friend, during the intermission, "The Balled of Mary = >Magdalene"--I had never heard it done by Lucy and those few that have = >say they were transported by the experience. Y'know, today i was wondering what i should yell as a request (TOMORROW NIGHT!!!)...weird coincidence. I decided on a short list of somewhere out there, the ballad, goodnight and the tide. I think i'll go for somewhere out there as first choice because of the success i had with that one last time.... ; ) Then the ballad, then goodnight...Actually she better play somewhere out there so that i can ask fer The ballad now that i'm intrigued....gotta hear her do it. Does she ever do i know what kind of love this is??? Would she do it if a certain frog asked nicely? >Let that be a lesson for all you Lucy-Listers! Baked goods rule! ok THEN...i gave up on cheesecake because i just can't make it. I'm doing brownies now.
