Cliff Eberhardt, who wrote two songs Lucy has covered, "Good Night" and "Memphis" (w/Cry, Cry Cry), was involved in a car accident last week near Pittsburgh. He's OK, but he says he is sore. A drunken driver rear ended his car at a high rate of speed. The accident destroyed his car and his hand-built Granata guitar and resophonic guitar. Cliff appeared at Wolf Trap Saturday night and at a house concert in Columbia, Md., Sunday. I attended the house concert. He sang and played well Sunday, and gave his usual high energy, funny show. The accident provided him with some fresh material -- and anyone who has seen Cliff live can imagine how he responded to it. Sunday, on an old Gibson, he performed "Memphis" with a tip of the hat to Cry, Cry, Cry, as well as a lot of his current playlist, including "Voodoo Morning," "Mona Lisa," "Is it Wrong to Feel So Good (At This Time In My Life?)," and "Your Face." You can check out www.cliffeberhardt.com. - -- Jay Votel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1999 14:59:07 -0500 (EST) From: witch baby Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Check out WUMB Top 100 Folk CD's I was really surprised, and pleased, to see that Eva Cassady's "Songbird" was on the list.
