I don't have time for this, but I wanted to share... In addition to my addictive concert-going at Chicago's Old Town School, I also take guitar lessons there. My instructor invited us to offer ideas for tunes to learn, so I took it upon myself to educate him. I knew Jacob had good taste, he taught us a Shawn Colvin tune and sung her praises (he's a great singer, too, heh), so I figured I had a great opportunity. My tape for him included "Scorpion", and 2 great Kim Richey songs. Last night, he reported being "blown away". He noticed they carried Lucy's stuff in the school store, so I offered my subjective opinion (F & B first, then TYN, since he'd just heard "Scorpion".) I further impressed him by reporting that Lucy evidently took a class or two at OTS. Unfortunately, he'll be out of town for Fri's show. Oh, well. Oh, yeah. And the coolest thing was he used "Scorpion" to guide us through the process of picking out chords of songs we hear. *Very* exciting for me. Thanks for listening. I'll be quiet now. :) ~Kelli ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Oct 1999 18:49:25 -0400 (EDT) From: eric Subject: [lucy-list] Dylan alert (NLC) for those interested, Bob Dylan is a guest on tonight's episode of Dharma & Greg on ABC. check your local listings. the lord sure do work in mysterious ways... - - eric. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Oct 1999 17:07:51 PDT From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] lucy in the burbs & encores harvey welcome home isnt it too early to being the lucy in the burbs talk? what about lucy at Makor, lucy at emerlin lucy in stamford-lucy return to NY- in 1/4/2000 the burbs show is exactly one week after my birthday ya think we can talk her into encoring "you're aging well" if vance gilbert can cover it- lucy can too only michele cashman knows that i asked for february as an encore- lucy can sing you're aging well-but you all will yell for scorpion or guienevere... sorry southern california about wilt C.another legend speaks to the angels go red sox- sharon who still is trying to get europe dates for you bakers... try shortbread i heard it was her favorite....lots of butter ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V1 #200 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
