I really missed hearing from him! Did anyone from NJ happen to see Lucy in Collingswood, NJ on Sept. 25th or at the Hightstown show same night? I got stuck having to attend the last family wedding of my generation....it just killed me to have missed Lucy in my own neighborhood!! I was right! Yahoo! Ok I checked the web site first, but still! Oh and I'm covered for the "baked good" at the Santa Cruz Lucy show. My friend and I will be making a special trip to Monterey to get Lucy her very own lewaf, something I did not do when she actually was in Monterey. Silly me. And the house concert is a potluck, that should suffice. If not, I'll make sure they bring lots of deserts (if it's anything like the dar house concert, desert will be rampant) take care, Katie http://userwww.sfsu.edu/~stohlman/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Oct 1999 17:37:17 EDT From: Wblr4@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] bottom line Hi Sharon, Believe me, when we come to NY, we will for sure let you know. We look forward to meeting all of you regulars at The Bottom Line and I know you would get us "in the front row", ha!!! On Oct 16th, Carol and I will be seeing Richard Shindell & Lynn Miles at the Acoustic Renaissance Concert in Hinsdale, Il. They do all fold artist there. It's held at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale which gives new meaning to an intimate place. If it holds 100 people, I would faint. Dee Carstensen was there last year and she was outstanding. Anyway, my question is wheather anyone has heard Lynn Miles in concert and, if so, what their critique is for her. It will be our first time to hear Richard so that will be interesting and we are looking forward to it. I saw where Sharon was going to see Dar soon. We saw Dar with Lucy at Ravinia (they had about 2000 people I would guess) and I just thought Lucy was much better than Dar...I could not be as ardent about her as I am about Lucy and her career. So I have a confession to make.....Carol and I went to a Beach Boys concert last nite and I have to say that it was first rate. They did music outside of their own stuff and although there are virtually no Beach Boys left (Mike Love only), you would not have known it. Performers could learn alot by seeing how tightly and professional and entertaining their show was. I would give it a high mark...we had a very fun time. Friday we're going downtown (that's Chicago) to see the play "Love, Janis", the Janis Joplin story with attendant music. It's supposed to be good...we'll let you know if we liked it. I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for everything.
