I guess I have a couple of questions. First of all, since I am from Chicago, what are the usual places where you all get to see Lucy so regularly. I notice the Bottom Line is mentioned often. If you could tell me where these places are and describe them for me it would be very exciting. Second of all, I notice that many of you get to have some conversations with Lucy from time to time. It seems that folk music like we hear it today is taking hold with a large number of people...it still has a way to go but it reminds me of the way country mucic started gaining popularity nearly a decade ago. My question is this...do you think Lucy has a strategy for her career and I guess based on the number of dates it seems I see her playing are you worried that she could suffer from burn out...and if you're playing for small numbers of people in a tight geographic area how do you reach the large audience that I would think would be the goal of every performer? And for no good reason...and honestly I can't tell you why I consider this....how do you have a family life with the demands that Lucy has?......Or is that just the price of success.....I just think she is terrific and I hope she has balance and success although that may be an oxymoron. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Have a great week. After reading Paul's message, I'm so sad that I didn't think to TRY to stay for the second show---I thought it was sold out already! That makes two second shows I've missed this week! I didn't have the money with me at the Bottom Line on Thursday night to stay for the second show (though in fact, honest as I am, I was tempted to try hiding under the table!). When I mentioned this to Lucy, she said actually the second show had been MUCH better, which made me feel even worse about missing it! Now that I've seen Paul's posting of the set list for the second Common Sense Cafe show, I'm sad about having missed that too. From now on, I will be prepared and plan on both shows whenever there are two! Well, at least I saw the two first shows, which were pretty wonderful in themselves---what a great week! I wish I could see Lucy twice every week...
