My train was really late leaving New York and missed all of the 12:20 show at Three Beans (great tiny club, like being in someone's living room). The 2 PM show was in a big empty hall, sounded okay but for a strange echo happening most of the show and a few loud bursts of feedback from the guitar amps. Lucy had Jon helping on guitar...during the show someone yelled out '"where's the OTHER guy? you had someone else playing with you last time" - a Billy fan who doesn't even know his name?! I believe that very same person later on was the one heckling Amy Rigby about country music. Before the show Lucy was talking with someone in the audience right behind me, she stopped to say hi to me and pointed me out to her husband (that I had given her a CD last time seeing her). I told Lucy I hoped she was playing 'Somewhere Out There' and pointed out I was wearing my Steve Earle t-shirt. When Lucy played the song she first added a little story about my having pointed to the shirt when requesting the song, which was a little embarrassing at the time. I bought one of Lucy's new t-shirts after the show, it's kinda neat. Saw Sally Timms Sunday night wearing the new Lucy shirt, I wasn't even aware ahead of time Sally's new CD includes a cover of 'Cry Cry Cry' -she also did that at the live show. Really great CD by the way: "Cowboy Sally's Twilight Laments...For Lost Buckaroos", everything from the Johnny Cash song to Jill Sobule/Richard Barone's "Rock Me To Sleep" Mike P.S. For the NY City fans Makor tickets are sold through TicketWeb, no date listed yet for when Lucy's show there goes on sale. http://www.ticketweb.com/user/?region=nyc&query=schedule&venue=makor ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V1 #188 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
