What style, etc etc. I'm not really a subscriber -- my husband is -- but then I *am* a subscriber to Richard's own mailing list. You can hear him by going to www.richardshindell.com and clicking on the soundclips, for one thing. As a songwriter, he's known for carefully crafted, dense songs that are often sung from the point of aview of a character, sometimes historical. The recorded versions have a somewhat country production style, lss so than Lucy's, I think. He's at his best with the less produced numbers, IMHO, finger-style guitar, rich baritone, lots of dynamic variation, he particularly likes a near-whisper. THere's a note of yearning, of melancholy, in most of his songs. I need to get rid of a single 3-day-pass-with-park-camping ticket for the Rocky Folk Festival in Lyons, CO this coming weekend. Cost - $80. I (unfortunately?) will not be arriving in Denver, CO, until Thu 8/19 in the late evening. But I will be driving into Lyons early Fri, before noon. Email me with interest.... and please pass this info on to other possibly interested parties! kelli@fumblers.org Thanks! ~Kelli ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V1 #156 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
