It was one of the first albums that I actually "heard" the lyrics. >> I think it is really fascinating how this record could be so pivotal in the musical lives of so many people on this list. I wore out the vinyl version of "Late For The Sky" twice and I still remember listening to it with the light turned off, a candle lit and a healthy pour of cognac in a snifter on the floor by my couch. I, too, listened intently to the lyrics and it reaffirmed my belief that Jackson Browne was a national treasure. It still reigns as one of the most important records of the last few decades in my opinion. In fact, these days (no pun intended) I've been listening to both For Everman and Saturate Before Using quite a bit. And I can't seem to stop playing Song For Adam on my guitar. Go figure. Would love to see Richard cover some JB songs by the by. I wonder how much he listened to these records as well, and was he an influence? I gotta believe it is so to some extent, since JB was an inspiration to so many songwriters who came after him.
