Lucy and Billy Masters played about 90 minutes. The crowd was good, very enthusiastic. It didn't look like the place sold out but most people there filled in and sat on the floor. I stood to the side close to the stage and a lot of people in the back stood...Lucy commented during her show that she felt bad people during one of her shows had to stand up. She played Julie Miller's 'Broken Things' again which made me happy. I had an advance of Julie's new 'Broken Things' CD I'd bought and gave it to Lucy after the show, since even Lucy didn't have a copy of it yet! I saw Billy Masters play again last night, he was part of the house band at the Bottom Line. Richard Barone hosted a recreation of the 60's TV show Hullabaloo, 30 acts/30 covers of mid 60's songs, even go-go dancers on stage and in the audience. I'll be at tomorrow's 5 PM Turning Point show, I know I'll see some of you there! I stifled the temptation to go over and say hello.:-) This is a small venue; the stage is about 6'X4', total. We got a seat not 3' from the edge of the stage. Details for the ladies: Lucy had slightly gelled hair, wore little makeup, and looked fabulous, as usual. She was wearing her black Guess jeans with a matching vest and black shoes that were a cross between Mary Janes and clogs. OK, the set list: 1) Speaking With the Angel 2) End of the Day 3) One Good Reason 4) Five in the Morning 5) Broken Things 6) Ten Year Night 7) You're Still Standin' There 8) The Swimming Song 9) For Once in Your Life 10) Promise Me 11) Carey 12) Turn the Lights Back On 13) Scorpion 14) Edges 15) By Way of Sorrow She sang and played her guitar flawlessly, and seemed in very good spirits. Early on, her A string broke and she changed it, keeping us entertained by joking that she would try to change the string and talk at the same time. A little later she stopped playing, looked at her shoulder, and told us there was a big spider walking on her. She didn't want to touch it, but finally brushed it off, saying she was a city girl and di not like bugs! During her set, she related how much fun she had touring with CCC, related the story behind For Once in Your Life, and told us Ten Year Night was all true. She came back for the encore and asked for requests. I asked for I've Just Seen a Face, which she sang. :-) After the concert, I went back to the CD table and chatted a bit with her and Rick. I got to tell her I thought she did covers better than anyone I've ever heard, and she was genuinely touched by that. I asked her if there was a new album being planned yet and she said" No, probably not for a couple of years." I told her I was on the list, and she asked "Oh, you're on the Lucy list? :-) I mentioned the RS "Are you Happy Now" t-shirt, and Lucy said she will have a t-shirt , too, which will be sold from her page. Cool, huh? That's it for now, it's 1:30 AM already! I had a great time! Was anyone else from the list there tonight?
