Just launched today is the Cry Cry Cry Announcement List. It is *not* a discussion list; it is a list whereby we at Young/Hunter Management will periodically send tour schedules, cool news, and other Cry-pertinent things to those subscribed (roughly once a month). If you put your e-mail address on a sign-up sheet at a Cry Cry Cry show, you are probably already on the list and will receive a welcome message shortly. If you are not signed up (or if your e-mail address was indecipherable to us - word of advice to everyone everywhere: when you sign up on mailing lists, PRINT AS NEAT AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE! Someone is going to have to read what you wrote and "close enough" doesn't work when it comes to e-mail addresses! :), here's how to get on the list: Send an e-mail to majordomo@shore.net with the following message in the BODY of your e-mail (ie. NOT in the subject line): subscribe cry3-announce That is all you need to do. If, for some reason, that doesn't work for you, though, you can sign up at the Cry Cry Cry website: http://www.crycrycry.com [Please note that signing up via e-mail is better for everyone involved, as signing up on the website means I have to enter your address manually. Thus, it'll take longer to get you on the list and it also means more work for me! ;)] See ya there! For one thing, it's a much easier drive from Tulsa than St. Louis! Her show last winter in OKC was fantastic, and I know she'd draw a big crowd here in Tulsa as well. Just Lucy, her guitar and Kevin on soundboard. Flawless.... And a comment to Chris' post that said, "Richard Shindell and Lucy need to make solo stops in Lawrence, Kansas." Chris, you should be hoping they don't do solo shows. Lucy and Richard together live are just past amazing! But, then what would they call themselves? Lucy and Ricky? Cheers to all! Sue p.s.Next time you see Lucy, ask her to play David Massengill's "On the Road to Fairfax County". If you don't cry, you have no heart! She didn't do it last night. I've only heard her do it once before. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 May 1999 01:09:20 -0400 (EDT) From: brinusser@webtv.net (brian nusser) Subject: [lucy-list] Dateline: Columbus, Ohio...Lucy was FANTASTIC!!!!.... "Oh, Luuuccyy, I'm Home!",( to quote Ricky Ricardo!) Just walked in the front door from seeing Lucy and Jeff Black at the Columbus Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio, this evening.....GOD, what a GREAT show!!!!!!! I had never heard Jeff Black before, and this guy's material and performance blew me away!! And as for the Great Kaplansky....well, Brilliant is a word that just BEGINS to describe her. What an amazing talent, she is!!! I saw her with Cry3 in January, at the Southern Theatre, also in Columbus, and was really impressed with her at that performance, but tonight, on her own, she was literally captivating!!! Her style, her delivery, her stage "presence"....and that VOICE!!!, ...BA-BA-LOO!!!,(to quote Ricky AGAIN!!) She can perform her material with such feeling and warmth, as well as with an amazing amount of sensuality, in her voice!!! Then she can deliver the next song, (i.e. "Turn The Lights...") with an almost aggressive tone to her vocals, accompanied by a "leaning into it"- type stance on stage!!! She is just GREAT, plain and simple!! DON'T miss "The Lucy Show"!!!!!(No Ricardo-pun intended!!) Take Care and have a "Ten-Year" weekend!!! BRIAN M.
