Lucy is playing the Ramshorn Theatre in Ingram Street, Glasgow (near the Sheriff Court apparently) on Monday 31 May at 8:00pm. This and any other UK dates that she might be performing have yet to hit Musi-cal. Tickets are available from the Ticket Centre at Candleriggs - 0141 287 5511 - and are £7 plus £1 booking fee. The seats are unreserved. Three Dar-Listers are booked already. If anyone wants to meet up, get in touch with me privately at - jeremy.briggs@gecm.com Thanks to Dar-Lister Pam Brunton for the info. I myself, like you, was introduced to Lucy via Bob McWilliams folk show "Trail Mix" on KANU 91.5 in Lawrence, KS. I had been listening to Brooks Williams, Jennifer Kimball, and Dar Williams for some time but was totally blown away by Lucy. What a truly phenonmenal singer/songwriter! I agree, we need to bring Lucy to the Midwest (preferably Lawrence or Kansas City). Bob McWilliams has promoted some exceptional shows in the past (Cry Cry Cry, Louise Taylor, Patty Larkin, Ellis Paul, Brooks Williams, etc). Many of these artists are booked via Lucy's booking agent Fleming Tamulevich. Bob told me last week that he has a good relationship with them and that he has been working on a booking for a couple years. I've also seen on the Fleming Tamulevich website that there are some open Midwest dates in June (10 - 13). So in short, if there is anyone reading this list who could help with a potential Lucy show in the Midwest (venue, promotion, etc.), I'd like to hear from you (offline please). You can also contact Lucy's agent at http://www.flemtam.com. One more thing, I was just checking the Gavin American Chart and Lucy's TYN debuted at #35 last week and is now at #34. Go Lucy.... Send Lucy to the midwest on her solo tour. Cry > Cry Cry was great but wasn't enough. RICHARD SHINDELL - MAY, 1999 ============================== http://www.richardshindell.com This may strike some of you as sort of a strange announcement, in that we're only telling you about a handful of dates. Here's the thing, though... Richard is performing only a very restricted number of shows in 1999. These are the ONLY solo appearances he'll be making in these cities prior to the release of his new album in 2000. Richard has been busy with the Cry Cry Cry tour (which has been one of the Top 50 grossing tours in the US for the past three months, with average attendance of over 750 people per show) and he has also been writing new material. We'd recommend reserving your seats for the shows below ASAP! (And look for the first-ever Richard Shindell t-shirt on sale, in a limited edition, at the shows!!) == Sunday, May 2 - TWO SHOWS!! Piermont, NY - The Turning Point doors: 4:00 & 7:30 showtimes: 5:00 & 8:00 pm phone: 914-359-1089 == Friday, May 7 Northampton, MA - The Iron Horse doors: 5:30 showtime: 7:00 pm phone: 413-586-8686 very special guest: Rose Polenzani == Fri & Sat, May 14-15 Cambridge, MA - Club Passim phone: 617-492-7679 very special guest: James Keelaghan Friday showtime: 8:00 pm (doors 7:30pm) TWO SHOWS SATURDAY!! Saturday showtimes: 7:00 & 10:00 pm (doors 6:30 & 9:30) == The special guests... Rose Polenzani, supporting Richard at The Iron Horse on May 7, has swept the singer/songwriter world like wildfire. Her dark, angular songs are described by Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls (with whom she toured as part of last year's "Suffragette Sessions") as being "as sacred as a mystic, as profane as your darkest fantasies." http://www.rosepolenzani.com The pairing of James Keelaghan with Richard, at Club Passim on Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15, is little short of a masterstroke. James is possibly best known in the US as the writer of "Cold Missouri Waters," Richard's vocal tour de force on the CRY CRY CRY album. In his native Canada, however, James Keelaghan is a major star in his own right. Don't miss these shows, with two of today's finest male singer-songwriters weaving their magic! http://www.keelaghan.com == Again, we can't recommend enough that you call for your tickets now. Once word gets out that Richard won't be doing solo shows in these cities until the next century (!), they will go FAST. Lastly, don't forget that you can now order Cry Cry Cry merchandise (CDs, t-shirts, etc) on the website: http://www.crycrycry.com And I still have a few goodies waiting here for the most interesting cheque!
