Subject: [lucy-list] New York and Boston shows this week

Lucy is doing a Member Concert for WUMB 91.9FM (UMASS BOSTON RADIO STATION).  

These concerts are free to WUMB Members (Individual Membership is $40...and 
allows you and a guest to attend all member concerts).

WUMB airs all their member concerts a few weeks after the original show.  The 
repeat old member shows during the week too.   I'm sure this one will show up 
on the air many times.  The member concerts are great...the artists are 
interviewed by a WUMB DJ while on stage..between songs, etc.   

**I'm going to this Boston appearance....but I've NEVER been so jealous of 
all you New Yorkers  who are going to see Lucy with a full band tonight 
(okay, there have been a few "sports" moments that come close).  

I'm SO excited about tonight's Bottom Line show.....and I'm not even going!

One great thing about the Bottom Line is they actually will buy tickets 
back from people, in case you're not able to find a taker for an extra 
ticket. I'd have said I'd take it but I'm still undecided about whether 
I'll go down tonight, I have seen Lucy 4 times already in '99.Also ,if 
there are any Dar Williams fans here, I have an extra (first row) ticket 
for Saturday's concert here in Peekskill.

   This just in....

   Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Shindell will share a double bill on Wednesday, 
June 16th, at The Brokerage in Bellmore, Long Island, New York. Tickets are 
$18.00.  For those of you unfamiliar with the venue, it is a smallish club 
not unlike the Bottom Line, but much more intimate and not that far from NYC. 
 Saw Chris Smither there last night and it was superb.
    Just thought I'd let everyone know....

HMMMMM......Hey Mike, despite the fact that there are some of us who believe 
that having attended only 4 Lucy shows in the current year constitutes a 
decently serious misdemeanor <smile>, I do call your attention to our dear 
sister who is going to the Boston show and is still jealous of those of us 
who will be seeing Lucy with a full band tonight.  But, then again, if she is 
a Boston sports fan one can only imagine the "few" New York sports moments 
that have made her jealous<devious knowing grin and sidelong glance>....

most of yo know i've been away and getting myself settled in

noone reported how well lucy sounded on sunday with C3 in stamford.

flame me but i think that lucy is too beautiful to have used the pictures for the cd.
even her casually look is more becoming
and i think she is very pretty.

Lucy Kaplansky is another great songwriter getting what she deserves.
She, too, has interesting stories to tell, but many of them are privileged
information.  She's balanced a career in music with work as a psychologist,
thus her grasp of drama is pretty strong on it shows in her songwriting.

Kaplansky, who began singing backup for Nanci Griffith, Shawn Colvin
and others, as well as participating int he "Cry Cry Cry" all-star project,
is touring behind her third and strongest recording, "Ten Year Night"
