"It would be fruitless to deny that for me, Ms. Kaplansky is a major talent whose qualities place her in the rarefied atmosphere several light years above numerous female singer/songwriters. This third solo album contains numerous songs which are inspirational for those who are students of love (or romance, if you like), and which will speak directly to such people. Other may find her poetic and insightful songs (co-written with Richard Litvin - one cover is included, of Steve Earle's For Once In Your Life) rather too rich for background music, mellifluous though it always is. A track-by-track would only result in tedious repetition, so suffice it to say that this is already booked as an album of the year. For confirmation, check the title track, which is nothing less than exquisite, as is virtually the entire album." This is a really good review, as Folk Roots is notorious for being "snobbish and precious" about music, it's rare to see a review that doesn't pick holes in everything. A great result all round. Lucy did get some great coverage in this mag last year though, interview, photo's etc. They seem to like her! And just to add a little to the sales discussion, Ten Year Night was tied for our top selling album last month (with Sinéad Lohan's Who Do You Think I Am), and the orders are still coming though. It's our album of the month at www.fishrecords.co.uk/newmail.html Best wishes Neil - ---------------------------------------- neil@fishrecords.co.uk www.fishrecords.co.uk Suppliers of singer/songwriter, contemporary folk and acoustic music.
