The reviewer, Geoffrey Himes, called Lucy's voice "as lovely as ever", but he finds the Kaplansky-Litvin song writing "underwhelming." "It's not that they're bad songs", Himes writes, "they're a young woman's well-crafted reflections on romance, growing up, careers and mortality. It's just that not a single chorus melody or lyric phrase demands attention. It all passes by in an agreeable, indistinct blur." Himes goes on to say the Steve Earle song, "Somewhere Out There" is the only one on the CD that allows Lucy to adequately demonstrate the quality of her voice. ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V1 #27 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
