Check out his sister Stacy. Sometimes she has a Lucy sound, sometimes a Nanci Griffith sound and always a unique Earle sound on guitar! Both were self taught according to Stacy. Simple Gearle. A great cd. She and Lucy should team up. Cheers, Sue ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Mar 1999 10:09:53 -0600 From: "E. Timothy Bruce" Subject: [lucy-list] FW: Your kind offer Hey! Hey! My first e-mail chat ever! how'd I do?! Timothy - ---------- From: Timothy Bruce Sent: Thursday, March 18, 1999 10:02 AM To: 'Wa2suh@aol.com' Subject: Your kind offer Larry: Thanks for the follow-up message to the one you sent Rachel. I was absolutely heartbroken at missing the TWO nationally syndicated folk programs that Lucy and Cry Cry Cry were on two weekends ago. I really wanted a copy of a Cry3 show to have as a momento of the fine show they put on here the Twin Cities in February but it seems that no-one within range carried them. Let me know how you would want me to proceed. I have a blank tape I could mail off to you, return-postage prepaid if that's the way you want it done. If so, share a mailing address. Incidently, I am going to see Lucy at a 200 seat college auditorium tomorrow night which is hosted by an outstate folk collective (the BOTHY). It is serving as a great excuse for a long overdue road trip to hang with a few of my fellow folk-musician friends who I haven't been partying (or playing) with since I moved into the city for good. They are members of the collective and are having a party after the show at their farmstead. Sounds like a winner, huh?! In the event that someone at the party taped the show, I may not need to take you up on your offer. Still, it is a very nice gesture. Here's another gem of a Lucy story! I just barely received my copy of Ten Year Night the day before leaving last Friday on a cruise to Miami/Bahamas that I won at work. I got it taped and played it on a Walkman both in the air and while underway at sea, as well as in my rental cars in South Miami Beach and Nassau! An especially fond memory was last Saturday night (3/13), parked at the end of the pier in Nassau with three towering cruise ships looming fourteen stories over me: mine, the Disney ship, and I think a Norwegian Cruise ship......1:00 in the morning with my car's sea-facing windows and doors wide open and the stereo blasting my advance copy of TNY through the enchanted sea air. Pleasant dreams all you cruisers! Now take a small handful of your money and be mysteriously and inexplicably attracted to Lucy's new CD when it show up in stores next week! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Mar 1999 21:39:58 -0500 From: "Tawni T. Hoang" Subject: [lucy-list] cancelled show Is this just a joke? Please let it be a joke. A friend made me a boot of the Cry3 show they broadcasted out of SF. I've been saving it so it wouldn't ruin the show I had tickets for in Williamsport. But I'm going to listen to it now. *sigh* I'm numb all of a sudden. Maybe I'll wait to listen to it when I'm in a better mood. Meanwhile, I'm moving to a city with folk music. - -- I'm not gonna let you burn your own house down I know you don't like living in it now Catie Curtis _Burn Your Own House Down_ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tawni T.
