What is the Antonathon, you ask? Well, it's a 23-hour marathon of Anton Barbeau, the man and his music. Anton and the Joyboys will kick it off late tonight (with a 23-song set), and the music will continue, and continue, and continue...until Saturday night. Scott is one of many artists who will be covering Anton's songs at the event, so the man himself can get a little rest. Scott will be appearing sometime on Saturday afternoon. The Antonathon is being held at the True Love Cafe, 2406 J St. Anton -- perhaps best known to loud-fans for his backing vocals on "Don't Respond, She Can Tell" -- can be found on the web at http://www.antonbarbeau.com/ Don't forget about the Scott & Kenny gig at the Starry Plough on Saturday night, June 30, 9:30 PM, $5! Anton will be opening, and many special guests will be augmenting the Scott & Kenny duo. Congratulations to Alison Faith Levy and her husband Danny Plotnick. They had their first child, a boy, little Henry Robert (Hank for short), on June 7. Lots of new Ask Scotts are up on the site. Thanks to a failure of the Ask Scott mailbox that the webmaster was too preoccupied to notice until about a week ago, all mail sent to askscott@loudfamily.com and scott@loudfamily.com between mid-May and mid-June disappeared into an endless, nameless void. If you sent something in then, please resubmit it, because the mailbox works again now -- honest! Scott made a guest appearance doing guitar & backing vocals on the new CD by Berkeley band Belle Da Gama. Full disclosure: your correspondent is co-owner of the label that released BDG's CD. And we're also hoping to release that much-rumored Loud Family live CD. It's now in legal limbo, which means, I guess, it might take a while, but the album itself is mastered & ready to go. Even Scott, a relentless perfectionist, was very happy with the results. It covers two lineups: '96 and '98. Stay tuned.
