A lot of these are still in my backlog, but I really went for the Cotton Mather. It lacks the exciting production of KON-TIKI, but I think the songs might actually be better. Definitely my favorite since then. I also really like the New Pornographers album, and have been liking them (and the A.C. Newman albums) more over the years. My minority sentiment is that I don't miss Dan Behar's songs... The Shins album is also sounding good to me, and there too I feel that maybe the last two albums might be their best overall, though that's not the consensus of course. Still getting used to SUPERCALIFRAGILE. The first songs to hit me hard were the quieter ones on the second half, "Laurel Canyon" and "Kristine." Sometimes it's hard to get used to other vocals on Scott's songs, but Will Sheff's on "Kristine" really appeal to me.
