Omnivore put together a nice trailer for the album here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7m6UgO--7c And it can be preordered from Omnivore here: http://omnivorerecordings.com/music/the-big-shot-chronicles/ I lobbied to have the first vinyl pressing on very cool lime green vinyl, and the CD and the download card that comes with the LP offer a lucky 13 bonus tracks which include 4 tracks recorded at the North Carolina Big Shot Chronicles sessions and heard before on prior GT CD editions (but beautifully remastered); "Linus And Lucy", "Couldn't I Just Tell You" (yeah, I know right? This was misplaced on the Real Nighttime Alias CD back in the 90's but is returning to where it belongs, the band here is Scott, Gil, Shelley and Suzi), "Seattle" and "Come Home With Me". The remaining 9 bonus tracks are previously unreleased and include covers of The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" and Roxy Music's "Remake/Remodel" as well as a solo acoustic cover of Big Star's "Jesus Christ". Add to these some really cool BSC period band takes including a stunning rough mix of "Erica's Word" (a mix I've long wanted people to hear...ever since '85), a rehearsal demo of "The Only Lesson" with some big differences (to my ears) in the rhythm section arrangement and a recording from the Very First rehearsal of the full 4 piece Big Shot Chronicles band (recorded, not surprisingly, at Big Shot Photo Lab in Berkeley). The full track listing is: 1. Here It Is Tomorrow 2. Where You Going Northern 3. Ive Tried Subtlety 4. Ericas Word 5. Make Any Vows 6. Regenisraen 7. Crash Into June 8. Book Of Millionaires 9. The Only Lesson Learned 10. Too Closely 11. Never Mind 12. Like A Girl Jesus Bonus Tracks: 13. Linus And Lucy 14. Couldnt I Just Tell You 15. Seattle 16. Sweet Jane (Live) 17. The Only Lesson (2-Track Demo) 18. Make Any Vows (Live) 19. Ericas Word (Rough Mix) 20. Jesus Christ (Solo Demo) 21. Like A Girl Jesus (Rough Mix) 22. Re-Make/Re-Model (Live) 23. If And When It Falls Apart (First Rehearsal) 24. Freind Of The Family (Live) 25. Come Home With Me I will soon start work on Two Steps From The Middle Ages and plan for it to be excellent as well. And Kristine and Ken Stringfellow's work in finishing Scott's work for the Game Theory "Supercalifragile" continues. As you may know, the project exceeded it's Kickstarter fundraising goal substantially and will include a big group of music luminaries completing song ideas Scott was working on as well as some excellent last recordings from Scott. So with two of Scott's great works (Lolita Nation and The Big Shot Chronicles) out this year and two schedule for next year (Two Steps and Supercalifragile), it's a great time for Game Theory and Scott's legacy. It breaks my heart that Scott isn't here to see all of this happening, but his memory lives strong in his work and I know he would be thrilled to see these albums out and getting the attention they deserve.
