Adam Ant: Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar In Marrying The Gunner's Daughter 2. OMD: English Electric 3. Madeleine Peyroux: The Blue Room 4. Tine Bruhn & Johnny O'Neal: Nearness 5. Youn Sun Nah: Lento 6. Wayne Shorter Quartet: Without A Net 7. Low: The Invisible Way 8. Joan Armatrading: Starlight 9. Holly Williams: The Highway 10. They Might Be Giants: Nanobots Bubbling under: Justin Timberlake, Patty Griffin, Keith Jarrett Looking forward to hearing: Black Sabbath, Richard Thompson, Tricky Will almost certainly not be voting for based on one listen: Kanye West Your thoughts? Andy If someone told me that Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me is some kind of dry put-on doc about a fictional 70s band that never quite made it, I would have said okay, fine. They were 100% real, of course, but Ive never effing heard of these guys. I didnt hear one or two of their songs and go meh. I didnt like one of their singles but then kind of forgot about them. Ive flat-out never heard of them. So they were definitely doing something wrong in some way. I would have at least picked up on a fragment of their lore, their soundsomething would have registered. - --Jeffrey Wells, from http://www.hollywood-elsewhere.com/2013/07/didnt-last-long-didnt-tour-much/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jul 2013 17:49:20 -0700 From: Andrew Hamlin Subject: [loud-fans] 2013: At The Half My Top Ten Albums For The First Half Of 2013, enclosed below: 1.
