But correct me if I'm wrong. Ya, I feel like Keene is very consistent (possibly to a fault). New album doesn't defy expectations (except for the lone long instrumental layered synth track). Stinson's on the other hand, is better written, performed and produced than I woulda thought, arguably stronger than some of PW's post 'Mats output (well: kinda faint praise, that). Reminds me, yes, of late-period 'Mats, but also, thanks in part to some lovely harmony work from someone, of the Chuck Prophet records that Stephanie Finch sang on.
