The Soft Pack. self-titled from last year. Main singer sounds a little bit like Spoon's Britt Daniel. Indie rock with trace elements of new wave, brit pop (even though they're from San Diego), garage, just a dash of punk. Also reminds me on some tracks of great multi-guitar bands of the mid 80s: Translator, Big Dipper, The Feelies. (I got the hook up from turntable.fm,which is pretty awesome itself.) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Jun 2011 09:42:59 -0500 From: Chris Prew Subject: Re: [loud-fans] music crush alert! Seconded - I was just listening to this over the weekend and thinking I should probably shout them out to the list. Classic jittery guitar indie rock done extremely well. Also hearing some Clean, and another current band mining this turf, Eddy Current Suppression Ring (who you should be listening to as well). HIghly recommended if you are fans of any of the bands listed below. Several samples available on Youtube. "Answer to Yourself" is a great introduction.
