Still the only Stone Roses song I really, really like, and completely misleading for the rest of the album, and their career, for that matter. Nothing else in their catalog matches the sinister vibe of this song. Something I definitely learned about myself during the shoegaze/Dino Jr. era was that while I understood the historically inevitable devaluing of the lead singer during this timeframe - it's all part of the thesis-antithesis-synthesis process - turns out that I really do prefer singers to have distinctive and interesting voices. Maybe that helps explain why I never warmed to the Stone Roses or My Bloody Valentine, and still like Kitchens of Distinction far more than the other similarly-minded bands of that era. later, Miles - -- over a year of feeling guilty about not blogging enough! http://readingpronunciation.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Sep 2010 12:30:31 -0400 (EDT) From: TruePantone293@aol.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] at least a few of you are going to like this In a message dated 9/6/2010 6:00:18 A.M. Here here, "Polaroids" came to mind when you mentioned them. They were an exotic bird that were ignored at the pet shop.
