The line up includes: Jay Reatard Peter Gutteridge The Chills David Kilgour Stephin Merritt Portastatic Sky Green Leopards Shayne Carter Pumice Hamish Kilgour Red&Zeke (Feat. Bill Doss (of Olivia Tremor Control) & Neil Cleary) Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel...back from almost 10 years of silence) Bill Callahan (Smog) Yo La Tengo AC Newman Don McGlashan (The Mutton Birds) Lambchop The Mountain Goats The Bats Bonnie 'Prince' Billy The Finn Family The Verlaines Lou Barlow(Sebadoh) and a load more I wrote about Chris & Tall Dwarfs back in the late 80's Game Theory fan club newsletter I guest wrote. Watch for the benefit and consider buying it. - - Dan V ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Feb 2010 01:34:58 -0700 From: Tom Marcinko Subject: Re: [loud-fans] New McCall on eMusic, New Carino Didn't know that. Based on that STROKE tribute, and the list of artists who contributed to it, the claim could be made that Chris Knox was the forefather of the so-called "lo-fi movement" that spawned Pavement, GBV, Elephant 6, and every other 90s band that Miles didn't like.. They toured New Zealand when I lived there in 1994 and were touring with the 3Ds or the Verlaines, can't recall specifically. It was a big deal when they came to Dunedin (but I didn't see it, and I honestly never liked Pavement either - so it's not just Miles).B I did see the Verlaines and I can't-remember-who else when I was there.Michael W.
