I found a 12" called "We Know You're Alone"/"We've Been Seeing Things" dated 1983 on Polydor when going through some vinyl in the house, some of which once belonged to my brother. I'm not finding much information online about them. One site had them lumped in with bands where Devo were considered an influence. My brother used to DJ in college (frat parties--yeah, I know), and I'm fairly certain this is one of his that somehow made its way into my mother's record collection, right next to Nancy in London (Sinatra), Jim Reeves' "According to My Heart" (electronically reprocessed stereo!--how cutting edge) and Jackie Gleason's "Music for Lovers Only." It stuck out like a sore thumb with hot pink nail polish on it--with little green polka dots. It was more than random finding it where I did. Thanks, - --Mark ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Nov 2009 08:58:41 -0800 From: "Robert Lloyd" Subject: RE: [loud-fans] Bob and Bob I think I recognize this as something I have somewhere in my basement (from my "Bob" phase), but I don't remember anything about what it sounded like. My rough recollection is that they were more on the order of Los Angeles based performance artists who did visual art and art happenings, and occasionally stood in front of microphones in coats and ties with guitars. I think they were prolific enough to come out with a book about their art stuff as well. If I recall, it had sort of an annoying post-decent Devo sound to it. I may not be remembering it right, but I think there were two male singers singing the lines simultaneously. I don't much remember the lyrics, but it went something like: "We know you're alone in the kitchen We know you're alone in your car We know you're alone eating cat food We know you're alone in a bar We know you're alone, you're alone" I repeat that those aren't the real lyrics, but I'm almost certain that it was all ABCB rhyme schemes. Anyhow, I haven't even thought of that song since the early 80's.
