I think we'd have a better chance at seeing Joan Rivers facial pores than at seeing Moz or Stipe, but Robert Smith would probably go for it (though the years have not been kind--he's beginning to look like that MacArthur Park cake left out in the rain trying to hold on to his "I wanna be Siouxie Sioux" look). I would want the '80s versions of all three as avatars, as that is when their avatarish (cartoonish) qualities were established. Sweet-green-icing-Smith is still trying to work his old look. Fortunately the other two aren't (Morrissey at 50 with his shirt off and flowers in his back jeans pocket seems a tad disturbing; Michael Stipe in that '80s kudzu thrift look today would make him look like a homeless man with a handwritten manifesto in his back pocket, not an enigmatic artist (it's amazing what our youth allows us). - --Mark, who wishes the club that the music is played in were a tad less Heavy Metal b.s., a tad more tasteful In a message dated 9/11/2009 3:37:21 P.M.
