It's a case of supply not meeting demand. It's a largely African- American and Hispanic clientele, and the used CDs in the racks are overwhelmingly alt-rock from the 1990s and early 2000s. Last week I got the double-CD best-of by TMBG, some Gin Blossoms, and Loreena McKennitt for $2 each. Today I ended up with used CDs by Waterboys, Punchdrunk Love sdtrk by J. Brion, and Iron & Wine's "Our Endless Numbered Days," again for $2 each. If I didn't have many of the discs I see there already, I'd fill my want-list pretty quickly. Saw a lot of Judybats, Sarah McLachlan, Counting Crows, Placebo, etc. If you have a wantlist heavy on that kind of thing let me know.
