Smiling (a bit) Spun the new Aimee Mann a few times. Miles' Midtempoitis Moans won't find assuagement, except perhaps on the first cut, but I found the album nicely varied, thanks mostly to the West End Horns and Jamie Edwards' ever-changing keyboard textures. The first worthwhile stuff I've heard from her since I'M WITH STUPID--my goodness, was that a lifetime ago... I almost called this the first Aimee album without Aimee anywhere on the packaging (needed to check the booklet's back page), Andy "When tillage begins, other arts follow. Smiling (a bit) I liked it a lot, but I think I'm on record as being an unreasonably loyal fan. And I think THE FORGOTTEN ARM is underrated, too. Smiling (a bit) I gotta admit that I have been slowly upgrading this CD's rating over the past few months. As I heard the songs individually, out of the CD's mournful context, they grabbed me much more. So my recommendation would be to definitely get the album, but DON'T listen to it all at once. LOL. "It's Over" is a particularly compelling track. I have dug on the simplfy app for a while. I have a first gen iPhone hacked on tmobile, so I don't get the glorious 3g speeds folks refer to nowadays, but the app still works well on wifi, so I listen to it at work all the time. Also lovin' the XM app - listen to that at work as well. I am considering upgrading to the 2.1 firmware, but am nervous that I will lose some of the apps I have - good to know Simplify is ready for 2.1 - that alone might be enough for me to invest a few hours into upgrading, jailbeaking and unlocking this weekend!
