["outbound-only email address" Subject: [loud-fans] Does anyone have the Cold War Kids' "Robbers & Cowards" on CD? I got my copy as MP3s from eMusic, and I'm trying to figure out if it has encoding errors, or if it's supposed to sound like that. F'rinstance, on "We Used to Vacation" there's a percussive but also kinda staticky sound on the righthand side of the stereo field. It's not in tempo, and it comes and goes. At the end of "Hang Me Up to Dry" there's another right-field perucssive sound; this one speeds up and slows down drastically and doesn't sound like any error I've heard. On "Hair Down" there's a shaker (I think) that sounds quite a bit like the noise on "Vacation" except it's in time and sounds much more purposeful. I can't even tell if I like it (although I think I liked the other Cold War Kids record better) coz I'm so distracted. ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V7 #544 *******************************
