This award-winning documentary, featuring Vivaldi's "Four Seasons," is presented in a special partnership with the Century Center Cinema, the Carrboro Recreation and Park Department, and BeeryMedia.com. It originally screened at the Revolve Film and Music Festival in August, and is sponsored by the Australian Embassy in Washington DC. "We're grateful for this opportunity to bring one of the best films of our five-day festival to the wonderful people of Carrboro. It's like a music and travel movie in one," said Revolve Festival Founder Shalini Chatterjee. Nic Beery, Century Center Cinema's curator, states, "We are excited to host Revolve, a wonderful year round festival that screens all across the state, bringing important and entertaining films to the masses. We are also happy to be presenting a music based documentary, in honor of the Carrboro Music Festival the next day, Sunday, the 27th." Film Synopsis In four corners of the globe, in the four seasons, four outstanding violinists guide us on an extraordinary journey through their four distinct homelands. From the springtime blossoms of Japan, into the blistering heat and thunderstorms of an Australian summer: from a joyful autumn in New York, to the unforgiving cold and human warmth of a Finnish winter. The resonant and much-loved music of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and the timeless stories they tell, form the backbone to this bold and engaging celebration of friendship, homeland and the cycles of life. "4" will screen 7 PM Saturday September 27 at Century Center Cinema. Tickets are available at the door for $4, which includes free popcorn, soda and water. Please see www.centurycentercinema.com for further information. The Origins of Revolve Rock musician Shalini Chatterjee created the Revolve Film and Music Festival in late 2007 and began monthly programming in January of 2008. Monthly film screenings revolve around a weeklong festival of film and music in August. In addition to working as a musician since the mid-eighties, Shalini was a student filmmaker at UW-Madison and attended New York University for film animation in the pre-computer era. She found her niche in the film world as a programmer. Check revolvefestival.com for details about the free, upcoming October 6 program with animator Francesa Talenti, at Salem College! _____________________________ Change address / Leave mailing list: http://ymlp171.com/u.php?shalinic+markwstaples@aol.com Hosting by YourMailingListProvider ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2008 18:23:37 -0700 From: "Andrew Hamlin" Subject: [loud-fans] Anyone for Netflix?
