I watched the vid, thinking about greatness being right there and people chatting away oblivious like some people do in clubs during sets--drives me nuts. SHUTUP AND LISTEN!!! I always end up watching my favorite clip of yours, GT recording the "Inverness" demo. I just watched it 5 times. It's great how you ended it with Gil going to "pick up some beats." It will play some songs several times without having played all the rest, and some songs it seems to rarely play. It has never stopped during play (except once when the battery ran down all the way). But is the answer to this question dependent on not turning it off and back on if it has not completed one full play through the whole playlist? That is to say, if you turn it off, and then back on, will it start re-shuffling as though it had not previously been playing in shuffle mode before, but if you turn it on and leave it on until it has played ever song, it will play each once and then stop? Jenny is right - if it is anything OTHER than an iPod shuffle, it will randomly play songs, and will typically replay songs that have higher star ratings. Although, I have noticed that my ipod (my hubby and I make jokes that steve jobs doesn't like mike ness) likes to skip past Social Distortion. In fact, I have more Social D on my nano than any other band, and I will hear 1 Social D song to every 100 or so I hear of any other band. Strange. . . Also, if it is anything OTHER than an iPod shuffle, if you have a set playlist and have it on shuffle, each song will be played once and upon completion of that task, the iPod will shut off (I say other than shuffle, because my newest shuffle is quite buggy as well . . .). However, if you have it on repeat, it will just keep cycling through. Based on that assessment, I would hope that the regular ipod "all songs" list would behave in the same fashion, but since the ipod I use most frequently has around 10,000 songs on it, I have never been in a position to test that theory. I will say that is the case with the iphone, tho - I have been through the playlist on that thing several times and it has played each song once and then shut off.
