Steve, you might like it >too. While I still haven't managed to download the thing (can anybody out there with a CD burner lend me a hand?), Cat Power's JUKEBOX sounds, from the Amazon sound samples, like this year's first must-hear. I have the new Man Man and and a Tim Fite sampler at home, but haven't spun them yet. No sign of Kate Rusby's AWKWARD ANNIE being released in the states, but I haven't given up hope. Could Be Good: Erykah Badu, Janet Jackson, Dolly Parton, Rocket From The Crypt, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Shirley Bassey, Bauhaus, Presidents Of The United States Of America, Simon & Garfunkel, Van Morrison, B-52s, Breeders, Spoon, Portishead, Tapes 'n Tapes, Billy Bragg, Scarlett Johansson (?!), The Divine Comedy, Flipper, Peter Gabriel, The Gossip, Morrissey, Weezer, Rachael Yamagata. And with strange aeons, maybe even the Human Skab reissue. Plus, we're all waiting for Mr. Ray to weigh in anew, Andy "The bee enclosed and through the amber shown Seems buried in the juice which was his own." - --Martial ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Feb 2008 15:04:38 -0800 (PST) From: zoom@muppetlabs.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Great "new" music > Mr. D - Wings & Wheels > Scottish guy - album came out last year in the UK > > Perfect Byrds-pop - great harmonies & steel guitar. > > Bradley, this is right in your wheelhouse. I'VE GOT PORTISHEAD!!!" Had to be there? - --Mark **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. It's not some lost tapes circa '83 found under Peter Murphy's coffin/bed or something like that? Has Paul Simon realized he's no longer relevant and gotten back with Mr. Blonde curls, who realized he was no longer relevant about 3 decades ago? The B's, well, I'll buy it because it's them, but so far, I'm not impressed. It looks like Fred got a facelift. Good for him.
