Interesting choices. > > _http://pop.idolator.com_ (http://pop.idolator.com) Goody! Am I any insaner by the standards of the Far & Wide? Let's see... (my picks top to bottom, followed in each case by Idolator position, total points, and total number of critics voting for it) 1. Charlotte Gainsbourg--5:55 185 45 4 2. Kinski--Down Below It's Chaos 478 (27-way tie) 14 1 (nobody else voted for it) 3. Low--Drums & Guns 42 175 18 4. Patty Griffin--Children Running Through 59 (two-way tie) 132 14 5. Fountains Of Wayne--Traffic And Weather 90 87 10 6. Abra Moore--On The Way 985 (44-way tie) 9 1 (nobody else voted for it) 7. The Stooges--The Weirdness 279 (four-way tie) 28 3 8. PJ Harvey--White Chalk 27 262 27 9. Busdriver--RoadKillOvercoat 437 (ten-way tie) 16 2 10. Warren Zevon--Preludes (did not chart--a theoretical impossibility, but Warren always suffered under star-crossing) So, nothing I voted for finished any higher than 27, and I still managed one "Never Heard Of It" in the Land Of Listed Sample. Roughly the same level of alienation. Still no linkage from titles to individual ballots. Paris Hilton did not release an album this year (or if she did, it doesn't show up on the chart). Britney finished at 33 this year (beating out Rilo Kiley, New Pornographers, the Shins, and many others), but Britney is a far superior artist to Paris. I count four Loudfans, though I may have missed a few. Obviously, none of us voted for Mitch. And they still can't spell glenn's name right (I suppose I should give up hope), Andy "Ohhhh, I hate the fuckin' cunt that I live with/I hate the fuckin' cunt that I knowwww..." - --sung by a big bald guy, lit cigarette in mouth corner, stepping down out of a 4X4 amidst the gas pumps, Chevron station, Brooklyn Avenue, University District, Seattle, just before 5 pm yesterday ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jan 2008 15:50:07 -0800 (PST) From: zoom@muppetlabs.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Re: 2007 LoudFans Poll Results > The opposite of slipping: I've retallied the Idolator poll (using raw > votes, not their point-values), and I trust my numbers more than > theirs. Given my cluelessness regarding numbers, I'm ready to believe you. Still confused at how the lowest prime number isn't "1"... It stumps my 12 academic math students also, so no worries.
