Lots of Spoon, Feist, Radiohead and Mia. Oh, and R. Kelly. > And Robert Plant. Bizarre year. Wow, I thought I was going commercial this year but the Rolling Stone Top 50 has absolutely nothing in common with the Top Ten I sent to Idolator. Granted, I deleted Peter Bjorn and John at the last minute. Peter Travers' movie list, likewise, no resemblansk. Although I'd still like to see BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD. About which a critic I know says "Bring Tylenol..." So, did we get anybody to run our poll? Well, considering that use of any tobacco product on a plane is prohibited, and cell phone use is prohibited during actual flight, seems to me you should have discreetly alerted a crew member to this person's misbehavior. And if your flight isn't full, you can always ask the flight attendant if she/he can re-seat you. Worst albums of the year, per Jim DeRogatis ( see http://www.wnyc.org/shows/soundcheck/episodes/2007/12/21/segments/90523 ) Eagles, Long Road Out of Rehab The Stooges, The Weirdness is That We Thought We'd Be Just As Cool as We Were When We Were Twenty-Two as We Are Now Collecting Social Security Bjork, Volta is Icelandic for Lacking Tunes or Hooks Feist, The Reminder That I Don't Sound Any Different From Cat Power, The Weepies, or any other chick with an acoustic guitar who got a record contract in the last three years... I'm mildly disappointed he didn't nominate Thom Yorke/Radiohead for You Insensitive Creeps Don't Understand How Horribly Painful It Is To Be Pretentious And Deformed... As I said when Aaron announced his polling resignation, I'm willing to run a poll. Given my job, collating such a thing would almost certainly be easier for me than for anybody else. But if I run it, I will run it my way, and my way would be this: post (or email me) a list of up to 10 albums in the format "artist: album". No point values, no ranking, just a list. I will collate and report the results. If anybody with different tastes in polls would rather run the poll some other way, that is totally fine with me. If you are that person, speak up now! glenn ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V7 #289 *******************************
