I just picked up a promo of Debbie Harry's new lp, NECESSARY EVIL, and it  
can be summed up in one word--NEXT!!!
 
It is absolute shite.  I have a tendency to remain loyal to  musicians I 
love, even when they don't deserve it (I mean, I'm one of three  people who bought 
the FRED SCHNEIDER & THE SHAKE SOCIETY lp in high  school--but that wasn't 
meant to be taken seriously in the first  place).  Most of NE is like music from 
a porn movie fronted by  someone with great pipes (remember "Union City 
Blue"?) who is too lazy to  actually sing on most of the tracks.  
 
What a waste of petroleum and aluminum, and even bandwidth, and the  time of 
thousands of Harry/Blondie fans.
 
If you're craving some tunage from a New Wave diva, get the new  Siouxie.
