There are times when my whole perception of somebody is based solely on internet communication skills. I really do think everything has changed, and it is not for the better. There are plenty of things I like about the internet, but it seems to have knocked humanity to a new, lower level. Smarter maybe, smart-ass, definitely. I even hate the word - snarky. It is so wrong. Not even sure I spelled it right. Hate spellcheck too. Gil Roger Winston wrote: > At Wednesday 9/19/2007 11:04 PM, Gil Ray wrote: > > > Jesus Christ guys! They keep things honest by preventing people from being able to deny things they've said earlier. It's kind of a personal twist on the larger political turn we've seen in the media now getting caught on a regular basis. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Sep 2007 12:38:26 -0700 From: Dennis Sacks Subject: [loud-fans] Snarktacular Gil and 0PB/Franklin Bruno Even when you are cranky, you are so GIL RAY and you ROCK. (chants GIL GIL GIL) On a completely different subject, I've really really really come to love most everything Franklin Bruno does musically. He is almost up or perhaps is at the lofty Scott Miller level of musical genius in my mind. I'm curious if anyone knows any good Nothing Painted Blue or Franklin Bruno resources on the Internet. Years ago I think I was on an Inland Empire musical mailing list that discussed 0PB and other related bands. I don't know if that list still exists or whether there is one strictly devoted to Franklin. Also, I'm looking for 0PB lyrics (such as from Emotional Discipline - I know Taste The Flavor's lyrics are posted on nothingpaintedblue.com). I also know about Franklin's old and new blogs. Finally, I just ordered the human hearts cd as well as an older solo cd of Franklin's that I didn't yet have. Are there any other recent projects of his that I'm missing? If anyone knows what to do about smoe, just say so. Andrea I have always known that people often misrepresent themselves on the internet, but I was shocked to learn just how many 10 year olds there are claiming to be 40-somethings on this list. Mr. Staples, thanks for helping clog up my inbox with that particularly vulgar and disgusting display, and don't you dare try to claim me as your long lost "sis" and imagine that I condone your behavior or think it's clever. Now please let me return to trying to have a nice vacation and using my webmail to delete spam so my inbox doesn't over-fill. Jen ps. I previously had posted a response to Mark's complaints of light traffic on the list, that in addition to those people he says are afraid to post, there are also those of us who simply have had nothing relevant to post. Then in an attempt at relevance, I asked if anyone else on the list is having fun with the new Blitzen Trapper album. I don't recall seeing it mentioned. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V7 #219 *******************************
