I was thinking of calling and having it activated. If you have Sirius, are you happy with the service? How much does it cost a month? And, what's up with that cute little dog? - --Mark ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Sep 2007 22:46:41 -0500 From: Francis J H Park Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Sirius Mark, I can't speak as a customer, but I've known those who had satellite radio services (XM and Sirius is about to merge, AFAIK), and many love it. It can only improve once the FCC approves the merger of XM and Sirius. I remember listening to nothing but trance techno music one night, driving through southern California. Or classical, or classic rock, or hardcore, or just about almost anything. You can also get news channels and things like BBC Radio 1. When I was at Fort Irwin, CA (about 35mi NE of Barstow) the satellite radio was a lifesaver, as no radio stations reached Fort Irwin short of the one that was at the installation. (Bizarrely enough, I remember hearing Husker Du's "Could You Be The One" just shy of midnight in 1998, on Fort Irwin's radio station, and I thought to myself that it was damned incongruous that I could be at an Army base in the middle of the Mojave and hear Husker Du.) Sirius has a dog because Sirius is commonly known as the Dog Star. It's part of Canis Major, or "The Large Dog." It's no accident the dog's eye in the Sirius symbol is a star. - -- Francis J. H.
