I have some stuff on eBay now that may interest some on the list. Included is the Game Theory fan club lyric book, a very limited Tall Dwarfs tour CD, some out of print Feelies CD's, The Quick CD (Sparks inspired mid-70's proto new wave with Danny Benair from The Three O'Clock) and tons more. Auctions can be found here... http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/cassetto Kind regards, Dan Vallor ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 22:44:16 EDT From: Scout82667@aol.com Subject: [loud-fans] Crowded House/McCartney/Neko Case&Jen Got the new Crowded House today--not earth shattering, but a pleasant listen (didn't they have a farewell concert some years back with a CD?) New McCartney is also a pleasant listen, but I don't understand the tune where he sings about being grateful to ex-wifey Heather for her love. Okay, Paul, whatever--while she tries to clean you out of half your fortune after saying terrible things about you in the press--that's love, baby. Oh, but an ex-model that's a really good dancer and gives to charities to disarm mines need not be questioned. The picture of McCartney on the back cover was an afterthought, and is stuck on the back with two dabs of glue. Neko Case was guest DJ tonight on World Cafe, and she played some obscure stuff that would make even Stewart Mason reach for his Trouser Press Record Guide and do a Google search. It struck me how similar her speech pattern and timber are to our own Jenny Grover's. She did two hours of nothing but all female artists--the first time I've ever heard Nina Hagen on WC...as well as the Medical Mission Sisters--nuns making music and selling it--now THAT'S obscure DIY. - --Mark, who has an interview in Greenwood, SC for a fourth grade slot--it's BFE (the outer outskirts of Egypt--but you can see the pyramids with a good telescope), but it's a foot in the door--the guy better not make me drive all the way down there and not offer me a job--that would be quite rude and I'd be very pissed, especially with the cost of gas--but please wish me luck! ************************************** Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 23:18:29 -0400 From: Jenny Grover Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Crowded House/McCartney/Neko Case&Jen Scout82667@aol.com wrote: > It struck me how similar her speech pattern and > timber are to our own Jenny Grover's. I sure as hell can't sing like that, though! Jen ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V7 #167 *******************************
