When I was at St. Francis this morning to sign-in for my outpatient  surgery, 
I noticed out of the corner of my eye the cover of the Stones' FLOWERS  lp, 
in the window of the gift shop.  So, naturally, I had to take a closer  look.  
They had on display for sale these really cool handbags with  original album 
covers on the outside, behind a plastic lamination, and on the  outside of the 
other side of the bag, the original vinyl album.  These  were cut to fit the 
handbag's shape.  Inside the bag was the rest of  the album cover for 
ornamentation, also nicely cut to fit.  The straps on  the bags were made out of 
automobile seat belts.  These have to be the  coolest handbags I've ever seen.  I 
think the clerk said that you  could send them an album cover, and they would 
make it into  a handbag for you.  I think The B-52's first album would look  
great as a handbag, which would be fitting, since the wigs Kate and Cindy wore  
at their first 1977 Athens house party performance were actually  pocketbooks.
 
Maybe the vinyl of DISTORTION would look good?  However, I don't think  I'd 
do that to my vinyl of that--too rare!

I have seen these, too!  A gift shop downtown has a few.  They do look 
fun, and if you could get a custom one, well, then that's even more fun!
