I highly recommend doing this maybe once every few years--go through your old vinyl and play something you haven't heard in maybe 20+ years. I pulled out the Flirts lp with "Jukebox (Don't Put Another Dime)" and by the second track after that single, I took it off the turntable and said, "NEXT!!!" It was like a banana that tasted good on the first bite, but rotted in about three minutes and was black rancid by the end bite. But, I struck gold on the next disc--a 12" of General Public's "Tenderness" which is much, much better than the original radio single, and it hit the same pleasure center in my brain that it did when I was a senior in h.s., and I was thoroughly enjoying separating whites from colors (being the skinhead launderer that I am). I think I'll play that one again....
