It's typical outsider b.s., and AOL Loudfans, please don't fall for it. The writer is playing up to stereotypes. The city proper has a population of 56k, but everyone lives in the county, which is closer to half a million, and we even have other faiths here, (including those who decide they have none) as well as running water, electricity (no, I don't pedal a generator to send e-mails)--Robyn Hitchcock playing free today, as well all the major stores. I don't have an inbred limb I play smokin' banjo with, and I could give a rodent's arse about NASCAR--no picture of Dale Earnhardt next to Jesus on my mill house's mantle.
