The new one to me sounds a little less focused, and I haven't actually checked, but it seems like the track times are all getting longer, which is usually a bad sign. Greg Hawkes and Roy Thomas Baker must be flattered, but I suppose Fountains of Wayne visited their shrines first. From a marketing standpoint, I think Sub Pop is doing this one right. Put out a pre-release single and then put the album up to listen to on MySpace right before release day. Pretty slick. - --Mark "There is no right house. There is no right car."
