What's more, as I was taking photos in the lobby late at night (something I like to do in hotels I stay in, looking for interesting compositions, and weird and sometimes funny looking things), a security guard approached me and told me I needed permission from the front desk to take photos in the hotel! So, we went down to the front desk and sure enough, they confirmed this and asked what I wanted to take photos of. I said, "Flower arrangements, things like that" (I was not going to try to explain why I was photographing the tiki in the dark at the bottom of the elevator shaft, for instance), so they said okay, but just no wide shots because they couldn't allow anyone to photograph "the security layout". Now, this is funny to me for several reasons, not the least of which is that they didn't, of course, know nor monitor what I actually did take photos of, and second, that they told me precisely what it was they didn't want people taking photos of, which, had I been an unsavory character, could have tipped me off to something that maybe I could sell people on the wrong side of the law. Pleasure meeting you, Mark! Sorry you had a slow and circuitous route home. Thank you, Jenny - or should I say, Thank you, Help of Allah Who Destroys the Great Satan America. I will pass your messages on to our colleagues - they will find them most valuable, strategically. Also, have you heard anything about my cameo on next season's _24_? Allah be praised that it not end up on the cutting room floor, along with all remaining "Kim" plots. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2006 22:21:05 -0400 From: Jenny Grover Subject: [loud-fans] videos are done! The Game Theory DVD comps are done! Yea! (except for the artwork, but that will be downloadable from a website, so no need to wait on that to get your discs). There are two discs available, and you may get one or the other or both. Entirely up to you. One is all the studio/commercial/MTV-type vids except for Jimmy Still Comes Around, which never did come around. The other disc is live selections from several shows, showcasing 3 different incarnations of Game Theory, and including some interesting covers as well as the classic songs you would expect. So, decide what you want, and here's the deal: Send me a blank DVD-R disc for each comp you want (and you may order multiples if you want to share with friends or whatever), with enough money for return postage, in a shipping container that I will use to ship them back to you (assuming it's not too damaged in transit). I suggest putting the discs themselves in some kind of case, rather than just paper sleeves. I have had discs shipped in paper that arrived cracked. So, clamshells, jewel cases, sturdy cardboard, or whatever you think will suffice. Be sure to include a list of what you want, in what quantity, and please print up your mailing address on a piece of paper that I can use as your shipping label. Please specify what shipping you want (priority, first class, or media), and remember to send enough money to cover that level of shipping. Remember, those who contributed to a comp will receive a complimentary copy of the comp to which they contributed (if they have not gotten theirs already). Send all relevant materials to; Jen Grover 2813 Pinehurst Lane Huntington, WV 25704 And feel free to make copies for others later on, if you so choose, but please be respectful and respectable and don't do it for profit. Just share the love :-) Jen ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V6 #202 *******************************
