I have it and the mail-order-only disc of demos that came with it. It is growing on me - especially "PCH One" and "Cruelty to Animals," along with the doug-and-Amy appropriate "Somerville." Michael I bought this, my first new album (also bought The Cure's 17 Seconds reissue) since Mojave 3's Puzzles Like You, and I like it, but it isn't earthshaking. There's a track on the end where Pernice sings about wanting to be with a woman one more time, willing to give all he owns for the opportunity (the song title escapes me, and it's in the car) and I liked that track the most, I suppose for its emotional intensity. Been listening to old favorites, like The Rosebuds, Camera Obscura (though I didn't care much for their latest one, other than the "Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken" single) and have pulled out TINKERS yet again after a long absence from my car stereo. Still dig the crispy high hat, Gil. My friend who lives in SF caught Elvis at the free concert festival last night, and called me on his cell and Elvis sounded fantastic, and this was through my phone! I asked him to call me back and just leave a message or two of nothing but him recording Elvis. A friend at work was telling me how much he enjoyed seeing Lamb of God the other night, and I was trying to relate, but I just kept thinking about Cookie Monster going to the dark side and fronting a band. - --Mark p.s. Jen, besides Wax n' Facts, there's Circle Sky Records, and I think there's a Wuxtry Records in Atlanta, other than Athens "It's a different religion from ours--I think."
