so i'm sitting here watching "Almost Famous" for the fourth time this  
weekend, and i'm wondering if Cameron Crowe's writings for Rolling  
Stone have ever been anthologized. are his teen-years articles and  
interviews  available anywhere? anyone know?

I'm sure it's not all of them, but seven Stolling Rone pieces are  
available on the "Almost Famous" DVD (presumably, they are the ones  
that inspired the movie).  They span 1973 to 1979, and the subjects are:

The Allman Brothers
Led Zeppelin
Neil Young
Peter Frampton
Fleetwood Mac
Van Morrison
Joni Mitchell

It does seem odd that his rock and/or roll writings haven't been  
collected -- especially around the release of this movie -- but then  
again, his book "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" has been out of print  
for years, and it's kind of a well-known title, so I can't help but  
wonder if Crowe himself isn't somehow responsible for all this....

Four times in one weekend?  Why don't you put on the film version of  
"Quadrophenia", just for a change of pace?
