(I'm leaning toward the former) "Pop Song 99" * It was a trip to Mousako's/ a scene at The Spoon": are these locations/venues? Are they spelled right? Or are they something else? "Flow Thee Water" * Is it "scream and scrum" or "stream and scrum"? "Mavis..." * "Here in the lee/Here, Emily/Here in the lead"? "What If It Works?" * 2nd line: almost sounds like weird overdub problem: "if it what'll we do"?? * 1st bridge: "at 85 on a houseboat / as overboard [single syllable] we both go" (Incidentally, although I'm sure "85" here refers to age, I'm amused to imagine it referring to speed - as if these "freaks" are roaring along at 85 mph in a houseboat...) "Don't Bother Me While I'm Living Forever" * Is it "grab an oar for free"? Sometime soon I'll put up a page with all of the lyrics. Unless someone begs me not to... - -- ...Jeff Norman The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 16:51:48 -0400 From: John Swartzentruber Subject: Re: [loud-fans] lyrical lacunae On 6/30/2006 4:40 PM 2fs wrote: > "Mavis..." > * "Here in the lee/Here, Emily/Here in the lead"? > Do you want a vote? I think it sounds a lot like the first, but because of the rhyme structure I think the last is most likely. The middle one seems pretty unlikely. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 17:36:37 -0700 From: Dennis Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Mavis Elizabeth Brion wrote: > > (Hi everyone! Nothing like a new album to get people excited and interested in talking about the songs. I hope Scott & Anton enjoyed making the album as much as we're enjoying listening to it and analyzing the songs. Not an accident, was it glenn?
