One of the better shows I've seen in years. I hope this return to live performances sticks. He sure looked like he was having a lot of fun. The entire band was awesome but Marc Ribot and Jim Keltner were absolutely amazing. This new brew of music that T Bone has concocted is a melting pot of sounds...blues, rock, Texas swing, 40's swing, jazz, folk, tribal, dissonance and in its totally unlike anything I've heard in a while. It's certainly a heady brew that live is totally intoxicating. I had no idea they be able to carry off the sound of the new record live but if anything it was even more intense. The intricate guitars, T Bone's crisp delivery and the unrelenting beat just sucked you under. It's kinda hard to explain but I haven't had a show hit me so hard in years. Oh! And in the encore Cassandra Wilson came out and did a cover of Jakob Dylan's (Jakob opened the show) "Closer to You" with T Bone's band. T Bone watching the the side of the stage. No doubt about this man is back...and with a vengence. Anyone who has a chance to see any of the remaining shows please, please, please go. You'll never forget it. - -Larry ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2006 00:22:30 -0400 From: "Larry Tucker" Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Well...that was kinda different!
