Man, did it feel right. that's an outstanding tale, man! count me amongst those who wish they could have been there, but sort of feel like i was, thanks to your good story-telling. great moments all around. Jon's been "my favorite Posie" for some time now, and i saw him do a solo gig a year or so ago (opening for Robin Guthrie) in Seattle. that show was just as you say, relaxed, emotive and sincere. he closed with "Coming Right Along," and was that a mind-blower. even my girlfriend was in awe, and she generally couldn't care less about music. i haven't totally gotten into Jon's new solo album yet (shelved while i go through a heavy American Analog Set phase), but his solo EP "6-1/2" from a while back has some great covers on it. doug c vicinity of seattle ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 May 2006 18:34:26 -0700 From: "Steve Holtebeck" Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Well...that was kinda different! They still don't have his new album, but there are a couple of recent Jon Auer solo shows on emusic. Another very cool thing happened Sat. night that I forgot to mention, and it brings up a question.. The absolutely wonderful and generous Dan Vallor gave me a copy of the ultra rare (to me at least) single LP version of Lolita Nation! Way cool! I was givin' it a spin, and noticed that the label was diff. from the domestic release - it's a blow-up of the Enigma.....symbol (for lack of a better word). I had always heard that that symbol is nothing more than...well...we're adults here, I'll just say it: upside down pubic hair with a sliver of female breast above it. Stacey and I looked at it and she asked - is that REALLY what it is? I told her I REALLY don't know! So, my question tonight is : is it?
