I liked the track they provided for the SXSW 2006 Artist Showcase (http://2006.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/4756.html) so I ordered a copy of their debut self-titled EP. After a couple of weeks it hadn't arrived, so I contacted the band via the email address on their website and got a very friendly email from Cari, one of the bandmembers, who let me know she'd send me another copy if it didn't show up in a week or so. Sure enough, it didn't so she shipped me out another, no questions asked. It arrived the other day, in a hand-decorated mailer. The disc inside was also decorated by hand and had a sticker enclosed. -d.w. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2006 14:57:27 -0400 From: Randy Beever Subject: [loud-fans] CD database software? I don't recall the topic of CD database software being discussed recently, so I thought I'd take advantage of the recent quiet spell and tap into the collective geekiness and wisdom of this group. I'm looking for CD database software to run on my Mac. I'm playing with a trial version of Music Collector and it's OK, but I'm wondering if any LoudFan has found something else that works well for logging physical discs as well as downloaded (eMusic) albums. Thanks, Randy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2006 16:38:31 -0500 From: 2fs Subject: Re: [loud-fans] CD database software? I can't speak to its performance in its Mac version, but I'm pretty happy with Music Collector. I'm not sure what you mean by "logging physical discs as well as downloaded (eMusic) albums": maybe you haven't discovered MC's feature whereby you can scan the disc and have it ID'd by freedb, Amazon, and other sources (which you can choose and order)? It's a pretty convenient way to log one's collection (I've got 5,000 CDs in there, although it took me about a year to get through them all!), so long as you pay some attention to what comes up from the links and occasionally edit stupid people's erroneous submissions to freedb... - -- ...Jeff Norman The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2006 18:15:14 -0400 From: "Stefaan Hurts" Subject: Re: [loud-fans] CD database software?
